Description
The NA61 experiment includes various scientific aims. Concerning the University of Geneva, it deals with measuring CERN SPS protons interactions with a replica of the carbon target of the T2K neutrinos beam.

The secondary beam composed of π and κ mesons is identical to that of the japanese experiment, but with complementary detectors present at CERN, which enables to know precisely its composition. The T2K experiment will pass thus the NA61 results in its simulationmodels, decreasing errors on the knowledge of the neutrinos beam.

The contribution in NA61 of the neutrino group are various. Especially, we developped a new detector, the forward-TOF (in blue on the scheme) which enables to know with a better precision the momentum of the mesons created in the target. We are also responsible of the trigger of the experiment, and we are contributing significantly to the simulation, to the analysis, to the events reconstruction softwares and to the shifter formation.
