Seminare de DPNC ================ Mercredi, 27. mar. 1996 17.00 - Auditoire Stuckelberg Universite de Geneve Departement de physique nucleaire et corpusculaire 24, quai Ernest-Ansermet 1211 Geneva 4 Tel. 022 702 6273 Fax 022 781 2192 ****************************************************************************** Sujet: Search for neutrino oscillations with CHORUS Par: Dr. Juergen Brunner, CERN Resume: A short introduction will be given into the phenomenology of neutrino oscillations and the motivation to search for it at accelerators. The CHORUS detector was completed on schedule in April 1994. Its design and performance will be described. Physics data taking was conducted from May till October 1994 and from May till October 1995 at the refurbished SPS neutrino beam at CERN. 2*10^19 protons on target were delivered and about 400,000 neutrino interactions in the emulsion target were recorded on tape. The present status of the analysis of these data will be discussed. At the end of the 1995 run the emulsion target was removed and developed. The status of the emulsion scanning and schedules for the next future will be described.
