strawman
performance : 1.2E20 per MW per Snowmass year.
http://www.cap.bnl.gov/mumu/studyii/final_draft/chapter-1/chapter-1.pdf, page 10
4 MW neutrino factory
gives per straight section 4.8 1020 muons decays of one sign at a
time in a 107 second year in a racetrack geometry
in triangle geometry each
straight gets 2/3 of this number.
double this number if
both muon signs can be kept and if detector can work with trains of muons of
opposite signs separated in time by ~100ns
question to detectors: is
this feasible?
