END-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR DISLIN This end-user license agreement (EULA) is a legal agreement between you and the author of the data plotting software DISLIN. DISLIN is developed by Helmut Michels of the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research in Katlenburg-Lindau, Germany. If you not wish to be bound by the terms of this EULA, please delete the software product from your computer. If you keep DISLIN on your computer, you are agreeing to the terms of this EULA. Overview DISLIN is a high-level plotting library for displaying data as curves, polar plots, bar graphs, pie charts, 3-D colour plots, surfaces, contours and maps. The routines in the library can be called from the programming languages Fortran and C, and from the interpreting languages Perl, Python, Java, Ruby and TCL. Grant of Free Usage a) You are allowed to use DISLIN for free as a private person or as a member of an institute that does not earn money with selling any products and services. b) Free usage of DISLIN for testing it for a period of one month. Commercial License Types If you want to use DISLIN in a commercial environment, you have to order a DISLIN license. Four types of licenses are available: a) A PC License You may install DISLIN and develop programs with the software on a single PC. Multiple DISLIN distributions for different compilers can be installed on that PC. The Windows, Linux, FreeBSD and MAC OSX distributions of DISLIN are classified as PC distributions. b) A Workstation License You may install and use DISLIN on a single UNIX or VMS workstation. The number of DISLIN users on that workstation is unlimited. The DISLIN distributions for Sun Solaris, HP-UX, Tru64 and OpenVMS need a Workstation License. c) A Campus License A Campus license allows you to install DISLIN on all computers in a building, or in several buildings in a closed area. d) A World License A World license is a Campus license without the restriction to a closed area. Granted Rights a) A commercial DISLIN license contains a CDROM with the current DISLIN software, documentation and source code. b) A DISLIN license is unlimited and contains free binary upgrades that can be downloaded from the site www.dislin.de. Upgrades of the source code of DISLIN are not included. c) Programs linked with DISLIN can be distributed and executed on other machines without any royalties. Source Code The source code of DISLIN is only available with one of the commercial licenses above. It's included in the CDROM that is distributed with a DISLIN license. The source code may be used for bug fixes and recompiling DISLIN. You are not allowed to distribute the DISLIN source code, or to make it public. Limitations of Warranty and Liability The software is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind. The author of DISLIN is not liable for any lost or damaged data or other commercial or economic loss. The maximum aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the product.
